Safety Tips for Buying and Selling
We live in a world where we must always beware of people attempting to scam or defraud others. The best way to protect yourself is to ensure that all monetary transactions take place locally and in-person. We cannot review all the ads that go on the MyTVClassifieds site so please take precautions when receiving responses to your ads as well as for those ads to which you also respond.
When buying or selling, meet in-person to see the product and exchange funds. Do not send or wire money to sellers or buyers. This includes mailing a check or using online payment services or other services to pay for items found on MyTVClassifieds.
Never provide your personal or banking information (e.g. social insurance number, credit card number) to sellers or buyers over the Internet.
Never give out your MyTVClassifieds password, even if asked to do so in an email supposedly sent by MyTVClassifieds employees.
Inform MyTVClassifieds of any attempted fraud or suspicious emails, ads, or other activity by community members. In case of fraud, file a police report and contact our support team.
If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Please use common sense when using MyTVClassifieds.
